Women achievers felicitated

Mysuru City Women's Congress celebrated Women’s Day by felicitating women Loco Pilots, TTs and staff of various departments at Mysuru City Railway Station yesterday. Loco Pilots Adhira, Sai Banu, Sangeetha, Neenu Movie, Bindu and Krishnaveni and a few women TTs were felicitated on the occasion by women Congress leaders under the leadership of City Women Congress President Pushpalatha T.B. Chikkanna. Former Deputy Mayor Pushpavalli, leaders Veena, Chandrakala, M.A. Kamala Anant Ramu, Nagaratna, Rajeshwari, Shanti, Mangala, Hema, Sindhu, Manjula, Kumuda and others were present.

Mysore/Mysuru: Janani Seva Trust, as part of International Women’s Day celebration and the 12th death anniversary of former MCC Corporator late K. Kamalamma, felicitated the following women achievers at a programme organised at Pathrakartara Bhavan on Tyagaraja Road in city on Mar. 7:

Dr. Manik Bengeri (Culture Spokesperson of Mysuru), Shashikala Ashok (Women Cultural Ambassador), Mallige Machamma (Senior Reporter), Pramila Kunwar (73rd Republic Day NCC Parade Commander), Ramamani (Senior Nurse), B. Manjula (Anganwadi Worker), Kavitha (ASHA                                                 Worker), Gayathri (Pourakarmika), Neelamma (Grave Digger), Ashwini Helawar (Traffic Police Constable), S. Lakshmi (Post Woman) and M. Shobha (Auto Driver).

There were distributed with Rs. 5 lakh worth accident insurance bond and jasmine plant.

Commemorating the International Women’s Day celebrations with the theme “Break The Bias”, Mysuru Yuva Balaga had organised a programme at Kollapuradamma Temple premises on Narayana Shastry Road in city on Mar. 7 to felicitate women achievers from various fields — Harikatha Vidushi Dr. Malini – (Music field), 73rd Republic Day NCC Parade Commander Pramila Kunwar (Sports), Vidyaranyapuram grave digger Neelamma (Social service), music scholar and teacher Sudhamani Murthy (Music and Education), Government High School teacher Revathi (Education), ventriloquist and magician Suma Rajkumar (Social service), Yoga teacher Rachana (Yoga) and Nurse Mamatha (Corona Warrior). The achievers were honoured with a shawl, garland, Mysore Peta and a memento. Sri Ilai Alwar Swamiji, MUDA Member Naveen Kumar and others were present.

Earlier, Kannada Sahitya Parishat Mysuru President Maddikere Gopal, writer and  Director of Dr. Krishnamurthy Research Foundation Dr. Leela Prakash, Sri Ilai Alwar Swamiji, CSI Church Father Rev. Victor, Moulvi Mohammed Ziaullahkhan, Adam Khanwa Masjid and Janani Seva Trust President Dr. M.K. Ashok offered floral tributes to a portrait of K. Kamalamma. On the occasion, Sowmya and Ramya played the trumpet.

M. Veenashree, Neval, Neha, Kumar Gowda, Sanjay, Srinivas (Rakhi), industrialist Nandita, Reshma Kumar and other Trust Members were present.
