Mysore/Mysuru: Only two persons aired their grievances at the phone-in programme organised by the Department of Women and Child Development on Monday.
A woman complained that though application was submitted for Bhagyalakshmi Bond, the same has not been received even after six months. Replying to the question, Department’s Deputy Director Geethanjali said that earlier the application was supposed to be submitted within one year of the child’s birth but now it has been extended to two years. Also, the scheme is being converted to Sukanya Samrudhi, she informed and asked the woman to wait till then.
The Deputy Director also informed that earlier, application used to get lapsed if it was not submitted within one year of the child’s birn about women groups which are registered at Women and Child Development Department. Geethanjath. But to help women, the same has been extended to two years. Earlier, there were LIC Bonds in Post Offices which has now been converted to Sukanya Samrudhi and passbooks will be issued to the applicants. Parents can also deposit money to the account, which will be helpful in future, she informed.
Another woman sought informatioli informed the woman to give in writing about the information she was seeking.
