Women Entrepreneurs Park to come up at Thandya

CM to lay foundation on Jan.11

Mysuru: Chief Minister Siddharamaiah will lay the foundation stone for Women Entrepreneurs Park at Thandya on Jan. 11, said District Industries Centre (DIC) Joint Director Ramakrishne Gowda. The Park will be developed at Thandya Industrial Area near Kadakola on Nanjangud Road.

Speaking to Star of Mysore, he said that the Park, which was announced during the State Budget, would be developed on a 100-acre land which has already been acquired by the Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB).

“Industrial sites will be sanctioned in two phases. In the first phase, 50 sites will be sanctioned to budding women entrepreneurs and another 50 sites will be given away in the second phase,” he said.

Ramakrishne Gowda also mentioned that around 10-15 women entrepreneurs will be handed over site sanction certificates by the CM and added the sites have been allotted on a 10-year lease-cum-sale basis.

“The DIC) has provided training for women entrepreneurs to set up ready-made garments, engineering, automobile parts and other micro and small enterprises at the Park. This apart, banks and Karnataka State Finance Corporation will provide financial assistance for women entrepreneurs,” he added. KIADB has also invited tenders to develop roads, storm water drains and other basic facilities at a cost of Rs. 8 crore. About 145 women entrepreneurs have already submitted applications for industrial sites at the Park.
