Mysore/Mysuru: Maintaining that women should become self-reliant through entrepreneurship, former RUDSET Director H.S. Krishnamurthy said that having complete knowledge of Government schemes and programmes and their benefits and facilities will largely help women in getting self-employed.
He was speaking at ‘Sabale’, a training workshop for women entrepreneurs organised by Mysuru Mahila Samanvaya Samithi, at Govindrao Memorial Hall along JLB Road here on Sunday.
Pointing out that there are many opportunities for getting self-employed, Krishnamurthy said that entrepreneurs should miss no opportunity for job generation.
Stressing on the need for judicious use of local and domestic resources, he said that self-confidence is key for success of an industry. Lauding RUDSET for imparting skill development and entrepreneurship training, he said that an industry’s success depends on its market outreach and product demand.
DRC Cinemas Proprietor Vaishali Hanumanth said that women who want to start an industry of an own should have a clear objective. Stressing on the need for having patience, she said that entrepreneurs should also focus on regulation on use of single-use plastics.
Earlier, Arpita Simha, wife of Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha, inaugurated the programme. Samithi Convenor Mamtha Kini, entrepreneurs Shakuntala Iyer, Vidya Kamath, Sudha Phaneesh, Lavanya, Ambika, Bhumika, Pragna and others were present.
