Mysuru: A five-day workshop to scrutinise and finalise the framework on Assessing Personality concluded at the National Testing Service-India (NTS-I) of Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL) here on Sept. 15.
NTS-I has developed a framework for achievement which includes assessing one’s personality and ability to contribute to fulfil the societal needs.
During the workshop, the accuracy of the meaning, language used in explanations, consistency in the usage of terminologies, the overall readability of the manuscript were verified. Assessing personality comprises approximately 100 terms in the areas of cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains.
The explanations were prepared by the resource persons of NTS-I. They were checked by the subject experts for their conceptual clarity, language uniformity and for additional information.
The experts lauded the initiation of the work as it is very relevant and necessary, which will in turn help many stakeholders of education such as syllabus designers, textbook developers, teachers, researchers and item writers.
The experts who participated in this programme are: Prof. V.D. Bhat and Prof. Kalpana Venugopal (both from RIE, Mysuru), Prof. Rajamouli (Ambedkar Open University, Hyderabad), Prof. Chandra Mohan (CAS in Linguistics, Annamalai University, Chidambaram), Prof. C.G. Venkataramana Setty (former Principal, SKMK College of Education, Mysuru) and Dr. M. Balakumar (formerly of CIIL).
Dr. V. Ilangovan (SRP, NTS-I), Dr. Biresh Kumar (RP, NTS-I); Dr. G.M. Ansari, Dr. R. Shakunthala, Dr. Sanjay Prasad Srivastava and Dr. Md. Saleem Ahmed (JRPs Academic, NTS-I) and Jeykumar (DEO-Tamil, NTS-I) assisted the experts under the supervision of Prof. P.R.D. Fernandez (Head, NTS-I) and Pankaj Dwivedi (Officer In-charge, NTS-I). Prof. D.G. Rao, Director, CIIL, provided overall guidance.
