Workshop on ‘MATLAB:Application & features’

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of the National Institute of Engineering (NIE), Mysuru, had organised TEQIP-II sponsored two-day workshop on ‘MATLAB: Application and latest features’ recently.

The main objective of the programme was to provide good opportunities for the faculty members and students to have an insight about MATLAB Applications in Power Systems, Control System and Power Electronics.

Further, the programme helped the faculty members to strengthen their technological base by bringing research culture and promoting creative adaptation, innovation and utilisation through interaction between   institutes of learning.

Topics covered were MATLAB programming basics, numerical computation, data analysis, simscape power system tool box, control system design and analysis, physical modelling  with simscape, GUI and model based design using simulink on arduino.

Pramod K. Naik, senior application engineer, corEL Technologies, inaugurated the workshop. Dr. Suresh Bheemappa, Dean (R&D), NIE, Mysuru, presided over the function.

Dr. N. Kumar, Professor & Head, welcomed the gathering. S. Puneeth, Assistant Professor, proposed a vote of thanks.  H. Pradeepa, Assistant Professor & Coordinator of the workshop, were present. Dr. M.V. Likith Kumar, Assistant Professor, compered the programme.
