Mysuru: As part of Extension Activity, the Department of Studies in Biotechnology, Microbiology & Biochemistry, PBMMEC, PG Wing of SBRR Mahajana First Grade College, Metagalli, in association with Karnataka Renewable Energy Department Ltd. (KREDL), had organised a workshop on ‘Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation’ here recently.
The objective of the workshop was to create a sense of responsibility among the young minds as well as the audience gathered towards the current energy crisis and inspiring them to take action to spread awareness on renewable energy resources.
Prof. C.K. Renukarya, Director of Mahajana Post Graduate Wing, was the chief guest.
The main speaker of the workshop D.K. Dinesh Kumar, Project Engineer, Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Ltd., Mysuru, gave a presentation on the available techniques and their utilisation.
Dr. Jyoti Bala Chauhan, Head and Convener, gave an overview about the programme. Dr. B. Kiran, Assistant Professor and Organising Secretary, proposed a vote of thanks.
The workshop was also open for general public and received a huge response with 200 participants attending the workshop including the executives of South Western Railway (SWR), Environmentalist, Faculty Members and Researchers.
A Quiz Competition was conducted for Post Graduate students of Life Science, based mainly on the topic of Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation and eight prizes were awarded.
