Workshop for Safai Karmacharis

Mysuru: Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep has said that a Divisional-level Workshop for Safai Karmacharis will be held in the second week  of February. Presiding over a preliminary meeting at his office here recently, Randeep said that the workshop will be held in Mysuru as recommended by the Safai Karmachari Samiti and the Social Welfare Department.

Pointing out that the workshop will discuss the status of Pourakarmikas, their problems and all other issues concerned with Civic workers, the DC said Pourakarmikas from five districts — Mysuru, Mandya, Kodagu, Chamarajanagar and Ramanagaram — will take part. Similar workshop has already been conducted in Hassan. Social Welfare Department Jt. Director Prabha Urs, Kannada & Culture Asst. Director H. Channappa, Backward Classes Welfare Officer Somashekar, Safai Karmachari Samiti Members M.V. Venkatesh and Rachaiah were present.
