World GIS Day

The Centre for Geoinformatics Technology, Department of Studies in Geography, University of Mysore (UoM), will be celebrating World GIS Day on Nov.16 at its Seminar Hall at 11 am. The event will be inaugurated by UoM Vice-Chancellor Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar. UoM Registrar Prof. R. Shivappa and Department of Studies in Physics Chairman Prof. N.K. Lokanath will be the chief guests. Prof. Asima Nusrath, Chairman, DoS in Geography, will preside. Geographic Information System (GIS) Day brings Universities, Government agencies, schools and GIS professionals together to build knowledge of GIS in their communities.
