World Kidney Day at JSS Hospital

 Pramoda Devi Wadiyar is seen addressing the gathering during World Kidney Day programme held at JSS Hospital here this morning.

Mysuru: Marking World Kidney Day, JSS Hospital had organised an awareness programme at Rajendra auditorium in the hospital premises here this morning.

Inaugurating the programme, Pramoda Devi Wadiyar contended that kidney was as vital an organ like heart. She asked people to be aware of health of kidney especially women as the cases of renal problems were high among women.

On the occasion, she released a special health package on kidney brought out by JSS Hospital.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Manjunath Shetty, HoD of Nephrology, JSS Hospital, said that to create an awareness among people on importance of kidney, World Kidney Day was being observed this day every year. He disclosed that about 175 million women were suffering from renal problems in the world which is one of the 8 fatal diseases. He asked people to monitor hypertension closely as it may lead to renal problems.

JSS Mahavidyapeetha Executive Secretary Dr. C.G. Betsurmath, Director (Medical Education) R. Mahesh, JSS Hospital HoD of Microbiology Dr. Sumana, Deputy Chief of Nursing Services Janet Mathias and others were present.
