World Oral Health Day observed

As part of World Oral Health Day, which is observed on Mar. 20 and to create awareness on the issues of oral health and the importance of oral hygiene, Indian Dental Association (IDA) Mysuru Branch in association with JSS Dental College & Hospital (JSSDCH), JSS University, conducted a oral health check up camp at the Government Higher Primary School at D. Salundi in the taluk.

The programme highlighted the importance of teeth, role of diet in prevention of decay of tooth, oral hygiene measures, and correct brushing techniques.

Over 500 students and 22 faculties were educated and every child was screened for dental condition besides recording the oral health status.

Children were provided with oral hygiene kit on the occasion.

A Poster competition with the theme of “Healthy teeth and gums to look smart” aligning with the 2017 theme “Live mouth smart” was conducted on the occasion and prizes were awarded to best 3 posters.  Dr. B. Dhakshaini, Vice Principal, JSSDCH, Dr. Jitendra, Dr. Brinda Godhi, Dr. Nitin, Dr. K.P. Mahesh and Dr.  Prathibha conducted the programme.
