Mysuru: City-based writer and activist N. Diwakar’s ten works were released at a programme organised by Samaikya Publications at B.M. Shri auditorium of Kuvempu Institute of Kannada Studies (KIKS) at Manasagangothri in city yesterday.
The ten works are Daiva Samaraka Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Tatwashastrada Badatana, Gandhi Mattu Asprushatara Vimochane, Jaati Mattu Prajatantra, Damanitha Hindugalu, Jagateekarana Sandarbhadalli Abhivruddhi Mattu Adikara Rajakarana, Vaijnanika Samajawada Mattu Kaalpanika Samajawada, Bhagath Singh – Veera Savarkar, Notu Raddhati Mattu Nava Udaravadi Arthika Neeti and Samaja Badalavane Mattu Yuva Janate.
Speaking after releasing the books, senior writer Prof. Kalegowda Nagawara regretted the rise of fundamentalism in the country. Ridiculing politicians such as CM H.D. Kumaraswamy, H.D. Deve Gowda, Dr. G. Parameshwara etc. for indulging in superstitious practices, he said that the country was getting ruined by superstitious beliefs advocated by for conservatives for centuries. Underlining the need for constructing a new India by honest means, Prof. Kalegowda said that writer N. Diwakar’s works, apart from being educative, can also bring about a change in the country.
Retired JDPI R. Mahadevappa, Prajavedike President Dr. V. Lakshminarayan, Marxist ideologues Prof. K.P. Vasudevan and Dr. B.R. Manjunath, activist Jeerhalli Ramesh Gowda of Nagamangala, city journalist Viplava and others were present.
