New machines to be installed soon
Mysuru: Hundreds of patients, including emergency cases availing treatment at the century-old K.R. Hospital are affected without proper X-ray facility for the last two days as the existing X-ray printer machine installed in the Hospital is under repair.
As a result, the Hospital is referring the patients to nearby private X-ray and Diagnostics Centres thus forcing the poor patients to cough up money.
Speaking to Star of Mysore this morning, Dean and Director of Mysore Medical College and Research Institute (MMC&RI) Dr. C.P. Nanjaraj said that the authorities of the hospital had floated a tender recently for procurement of two X-ray printers as the old ones were under repair. The new machines were brought to the Hospital two days back but they were waiting for the engineers of the company for its installation. The engineers are expected to arrive today evening or tomorrow, he said.
At present the Hospital is using an old X-ray machine for emergency and in patients. The Hospital is witnessing 500 cases for X-ray reports daily and once the new machines are installed, it can handle 600 to 700 X-ray reports daily, he added.
