Yaduveer couple inaugurates Child Care Room at Mysuru Zoo

Mysore/Mysuru: A Child Care Room, constructed by Mysore Amity Ladies Circle 108, at Mysuru Zoo was inaugurated by Mysore royal family member Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar and his wife Trishikha Kumari Wadiyar this morning.

The dignitaries inaugurated the Child Care Room by cutting the tape and unveiling a statue of a mother and child. The Child Care Room is located near the reptile enclosures.

Speaking on the occasion, Yaduveer said that Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens, popularly known as ‘Mysuru Zoo’, was started in 1892 and now, the Zoo has grown with a large number of birds, animals and reptiles being housed here.

Pointing out that Mysuru Zoo is one of the best zoos in Asia, Yaduveer said that lakhs of tourists, along with their children, some of them infants, visit the Zoo. He lauded Mysore Amity Ladies Circle 108 for constructing a hygienic Child Care Room, which is helpful for mothers.

Mysore Amity Ladies Circle 108 Chairperson Aparna Ranga said: “We visited the Zoo and held talks with the Executive Director, who said that many tourists bring their infants with them to the Zoo but were finding it difficult to feed their infants and take care of them. Hence we decided to construct a Child Care Room.”

Zoo In-Charge Executive Director D. Mahesh Kumar, Deputy Director Roshni, members of Mysore Amity Ladies Circle 108 and others were present.
