Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar is seen launching the ‘Smart Attendance App’ of the Government School in city recently as St. Philomena’s College alumnus Deepak Roy, Msgr. Leslie Moras, Episcopal Vicar and others look on.

Mysuru: Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar recently initiated the academic adoption of Government Higher Primary School by St. Philomena’s College and the launch of ‘smart attendance app’.

Deepak Roy, Founder CEO of Genius Lead, UK-based company who was also an alumnus of St. Philomena’s College has created this handy app which enables fast access of attendance status to both teachers and students. This app will be provided to several government schools free of cost.

As part of outreach programme, the Department of Social Work will academically adopt Government Higher Primary School at Kesare. The programme has been initiated by Msgr. Leslie Moras, Episcopal Vicar, St. Philomena’s College.

This helps in the utilisation of resources in the college. Various faculty members and students will be taking time to teach the school children English, basic Mathematics, basic Science etc.

Addressing the gathering, Yaduveer spoke about how happy he was to revisit old links his family had with various institutions across Mysuru and learn about the contributions his ancestors have made. He mentioned that the ‘Smart attendance app’ fits the current era perfectly as apps have become a necessity these days.

Technology helps in bridging the gap between government schools and other private schools, he felt.

Deepak, the creator of ‘Smart attendance app’ said that this app would replace all the attendance books as one could take attendance right on the smart phone. The absentees’ data would be instantly available and all the reports could be viewed online.

The app does not just help save time in data entry but will also save costs and employee time. He also stressed about how the app would help in saving the environment, as it is a paperless technology.

Msgr. Leslie Moras  and former Principal Prof. M. Krishne Gowda also spoke. Block Education Officer Vivekananda, Msgr. Marie Joseph, Administrator, Rev. Fr. Bernard Prakash Barnis, Rector and Principal Dr. Ruth Shanthakumari were present.
