Yaduveer Wadiyar’s grandma no more

Mysore/Mysuru: Uma Gopal Raj Urs (83), grandmother of Mysore royal family member Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, passed away at her residence in Lakshmipuram yesterday evening. She was the mother of Swarup Anand Gopal Raj Urs, father of Yaduveer.

She leaves behind her children, grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Last rites were held today, according to family sources.

Yaduveer, who has shared the information on his Twitter account, has stated: “It is with profound sadness that I wish to you inform you about the passing of my biological Grandmother, Smt. Uma Madan Gopal Raj Urs. She was always very simple, kindhearted, and loving to all. She played a pivotal role in shaping all of her grandchildren’s personalities, our behaviour, and our conduct. Words cannot describe how much she meant to me and my family and her loss has left a void in our lives. I pray to the almighty to give her peace in her liberation. Om Shanti.”
