Mysuru: The year-long Centenary Celebrations of D. Banumaiah’s Educational Institutions will be held from tomorrow (Oct. 2) at its premises on Sayyaji Rao Road here.
Speaking to press persons at Pathrakarthara Bhavan, Secretary of the Institutions Dr. V. B. Jayadev said they will be conducting year-long programmes from Oct. 2, 2018 till Oct. 2, 2019. Seminars, workshops, quiz, various cultural and educational programmes will be conducted throughout the year. Plans are also afoot to construct a Centenary Hall.
He said the Institution was started by educationist and philanthropist D.Banumaiah to educate rural and poor children on Oct.2, 1919. This institution is running a chain of educational institutions from kindergarten to post-graduate courses.
To mark the occasion, a souvenir will be brought out with articles by old students and scholars.
