Bengaluru – BJP State President B.S. Yeddyurappa will visit Nanjangud and Gundlupet on Apr. 17 (tomorrow) to meet party workers and enthuse them to prepare for the 2018 Assembly elections. BJP had to face an electoral debacle both in Nanjangud and Gundlupet at the hands of Congress in the recently held by-election.
Apart from understanding the reasons for the defeat, Yeddyurappa will hold meetings with party workers to rework the strategy for 2018. Party sources said that Yeddyurappa is visiting both the constituencies to boost the sagging morale of the party workers.
Yeddyurappa will arrive at Gundlupet at 10.30 am and participate in a party workers’ meet and he will arrive at Nanjangud at 4 pm to address another party workers’ meet. In Gundlupet, Yeddyurappa will thank the voters at CMS Kalamandira.
Party sources said that both the conventions are being held taking into account the high vote share the BJP received in Gundlupet and Nanjangud that are traditionally Congress strongholds.
Yeddyurappa is reportedly making a strategy to erode Congress votes to achieve the BJP’s Mission 150, a project to win 150 seats in the 224-seat Karnataka Assembly in 2018.
