Mysore/Mysuru: The Central Bureau of Communication (Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India), Mysuru, had organised a programme at Sri Vanivilas Urs Girls High School to commemorate 10th International Yoga Day.
The programme, organised under the theme ‘Yoga for Me and Society,’ hosted many Yoga related activities. Central Bureau of Communication Bengaluru Director Pallavi, who spoke at the programme, said that Yoga is useful to lead a healthy and disciplined life and advised students to perform yoga everyday and become healthy.
Prior to the stage programme, Yoga and Pranayama sessions were held under the guidance of yoga experts.
Resource person and yoga expert Nagendra Prabhu, in his address to students, gave information about the uses of various asanas.
Student G. Sourabha, who created a world record in yoga and has won gold medals in various competitions, was felicitated at the programme.
Yoga practitioner Ankita performed yoga exercises to inspire students to learn yoga.
Rangoli, drawing and yoga competitions were held and winners were given prizes.
The Bureau created awareness about various asanas by exhibiting posters.
Bureau Regional Publicity Officer S.T. Shruthi, Regional Publicity Assistant P. Darshan, School Head Master N. Subramanya and teacher S. Tejavati were present.
