Yoga Centre distributes jackets to city cops

Mysuru/Mysore: City-based Yoga Guru Sharath Jois of Sharath Yoga Centre distributed 160 jackets to the Police and Traffic Police force at V.V. Puram Police Station on Thursday as part of the annual welfare work by K. Pattabhi Jois Charitable Trust established by Sharath Jois in 2009 in memory of his late grandfather and yoga legend K. Pattabhi Jois.

Speaking on the occasion, Sharath Jois said that he wanted to honour the selfless and tireless work the Police force does, come rain or shine, to maintain law and order in the city. “I have always admired the work of the cops and  seen the force in action at all times. I wanted to give back something to the men and women who make us feel safe in this city,” he said.

Inspector H.N. Vinay, thanking Jois said, “We do our duty sincerely but we don’t get the recognition always. I’m very happy that Sharath Jois has done it.”

The Trust is involved in many charitable works including financial aid to a home for special children, distributing school bags to underprivileged children and shoes and jackets to wildlife wardens at Nagarahole National Park, among others.
