Yoga convocation held

Mysuru: A total of 75 yoga students were awarded degree, diploma and certificates at the ‘Yoga Convocation’ organised by Mysuru Vivekananda Yoga Education and Research Centre, in association with World Yoga Alliance, at Jaganmohan Palace in city this morning.

Mayor M.J. Ravikumar presented the degrees and certificates to 52 men and 23 women under 4 courses namely- P.G. Diploma in Yoga Education, Diploma in Yoga Education, Certificate in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and certificate in Yoga Therapy.

Corporator Mahadevappa presided. Government Ayurveda College faculty Dr. H.A. Sashirekha delivered the main address. IYFP, Karnataka’s Gunjan Jha was the chief guest. Sucharitha Mataji of Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari, graced the occasion.

Yoga Sports Foundation District Hon. President Dr. P.N. Ganesh Kumar was felicitated on the occasion.

GSS Yoga Samsthe’s Sri Hari, Mysuru Yoga Okkoota’s B.P. Murthy and others were present. 27 students received PG. Diploma, while 44 students received degrees and 4 students (3 in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and one in yoga therapy) received certificates at the convocation.

This was the second convocation, with the first one held in last year.
