Mysuru: Traffic Police personnel of Devaraja Police Station flexed their joints at a Yoga Session organised exclusively for them on Monday morning. The session was jointly organised by Belaku Foundation in association with Samuthana Foundation. The session saw over 60 personnel including Home Guards performing 22 yogasanas and meditation, in front of Devaraja Police Station.
As Traffic Cops spend majority of their life on polluted roads and under stressful conditions, the Yogasanas were a real breather for them, refreshing their mind and body.
Belaku Foundation Founder K.M. Nishanth said, “Traffic Police personnel are exposed to dust and toxins. So asanas that are useful for their lungs were chosen and coupled with a meditation session. The initiative has helped them to ease the stress that they have to encounter in their daily work.” He further said that there was a proposal to conduct a larger session together for all Police personnel in the city.
K.P. Pradyumna of Samuthana Foundation said that Devaraja Traffic Police have taken the lead in hosting yoga sessions for Police personnel.
Pointing out that the asanas were of great help for stress relief, he said that there were plans to conduct a larger session involving all Police personnel.
The session was of one-and-a-half hour duration. Devaraja Traffic Inspector M. Chandrashekar, Patanjali Yoga Kendra’s Shashidhar and others were present.
