Young advocates must always be studious: SC Judge

14th Graduation Day of JSS Law College held

Mysore/Mysuru: Stressing on the need for young advocates to be always studious in an ever-changing world, Supreme Court Judge Justice A.S. Bopanna said that it is important to maintain discipline, professionalism and honesty in public life.

He was delivering the Graduation Day address of the 14th Graduation Day of JSS Law College in Kuvempunagar here on Saturday last.

Emphasising on the need for budding advocates to be updated in their profession, Justice Bopanna said that at the same time, they should thoroughly study the judgements given by the High Courts and the Supreme Court regarding various issues, disputes and petitions.

Noting that the JSS Law College and other educational institutions established by Suttur Mutt are giving prominence to quality education in keeping with present day requirements, he said that Law students should be well-versed with Corporate and International Laws in this changing world.

Maintaining that getting degree is the first step for a Law graduate to enter the profession, he underlined the importance of having regular contact with senior advocates as it helps a lot in achieving professional finesse.

Karnataka High Court Judge P.S. Dinesh Kumar too spoke.

A total of 41 students were presented B.A, LLB degree; 44  – BBA, LLB degree; 46 – three-year LLB degree and 7 – LLM Degree on the occasion.

D. Nirupama was among the top rankers in two-year LLM course, while D. Pramila Jain, Harshika Suresh, Chirag Shekawat, V.K. Malavika, L.Nisha and Kaveri G. Kuruvatti were the top rankers in BBA, LLB course and Maithri Gopinath, N. Nivedita, Nithya N. Gujjar, V. Sridevi and Rashmi Veerabhadra were the top rankers in three-year LLB course.

Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji graced the occasion. JSS Mahavidyapeetha Executive  Secretary Dr. C.G. Betsurmath, Principal Dr. Suresh and others were present.
