Mysuru: Udayagiri Police have arrested a 20-year-old youth on charges of attempting to rape a minor girl.

The arrested youth has been identified as Hemanth Kumar, a resident of Gayatripuram in city.

Hemanth Kumar is accused of luring the minor girl, who had gone missing for a couple of days and attempting to rape her.

Udayagiri Police had registered a case under POCSO Act against the accused Hemanth Kumar.

Following his arrest, Hemanth Kumar was produced before a court, which remanded him to judicial custody.
