Mysuru: A youth, who was denied money by his friend, allegedly assaulted him with a machete in public at K.G. Koppal recently. While the accused is identified as Umesh, the seriously injured man is Guru.
Details: Guru, along with another friend, was walking towards their house at K.G. Koppal from Kantharaj Urs Road when they were stopped near Chandramouleswara Temple at about 9.30 pm by Umesh, who reportedly demanded Rs.50 from Guru, which the latter denied.
Angered over Guru for denying him money, Umesh pulled out a machete and attacked Guru. As Guru raised his left hand to shield himself, he was injured on the hand and fell down following which Umesh and his accomplices kicked him and fled from the spot. Guru, who sustained severe injuries, lodged a complaint at Saraswathipuram Police Station and the Police, who had registered a case against Umesh, have arrested him.
