Mysore/Mysuru: The Mysuru City and District Youth Congress yesterday launched distribution of medical kits to those in home isolation. The distribution was launched during a press meet at the Congress Office near City Railway Station.
Addressing the press meet, Youth Congress President Mohammed Harris said that the Youth Congress had decided to provide necessary medicines to those in home quarantine and added that selected leaders from various blocks and Congress workers, will distribute the medical kits to the door step of home quarantined patients.
Speaking on the occasion, Congress leader M.N. Naveen Kumar said that the State Youth Congress had provided 2,000 medical kits which will be distributed to patients under home quarantine. Pointing out that the phone numbers of doctors are also provided in the medical kits, Naveen added that patients are required to consult the doctors by calling them on the phone numbers provided and take medicines after consulting them.
Alleging that the BJP was misleading the people and has failed in controlling the pandemic, Naveen said that the Congress, to help people has come out with this initiative. Devaraja Block Congress President Chandru, Seva Dal City President R. Girish, leaders Rajesh and others were present.
Food distributed to the needy, homeless
Meanwhile, the Youth Congress, led by former MLA M.K. Somashekar distributed food and water bottles to attendants of patients and the homeless near K.R. Hospital and Cheluvamba Hospital yesterday afternoon.
Somashekar said that many labourers, daily wagers and economically weaker families have been suffering due to lockdown and they need help. “The Government has not come to the aid of the working class, who are facing a tough situation,” he added. Youth Congress State Secretary Deepak Shivanna, Mysuru City Youth Congress Vice-President Syed Abrar, Youth Congress former President Mohsin Khan, Devaraj Urs Block Youth Congress Vice-President Naveen, leaders Yashwanth, Mohammed Azar, Azam Pasha, Mustafa, Ramu, Raghu and others were present.
