Relatives allege delay in ambulance’s arrival resulted in death
Mysuru: The relatives of Shivarudrappa (26), who died this morning after consuming poison yesterday at Shagya village in Kollegal taluk, alleged that the delay in arrival of ambulance resulted in death.
Speaking to Star of Mysore, N. Pradeep Kumar, Shivarudrappa’s relative, alleged that Shivarudrappa was shifted in a private vehicle as there was a delay in ambulance to arrive at Shagya village.
At the time when they reached Mangalli, the ambulance was intercepted when Shivarudrappa was shifted and taken to Kamagere PHC.
Doctors there, after examining, informed the relatives to shift the patient to K.R. Hospital for advanced treatment. So again the ambulance was called but this time the arrival was delayed by more than an hour and the condition of Shivaradurappa was getting critical.
After the ambulance arrived, he was shifted to K.R. Hospital at around 5.30 am. Unfortunately, he breathed his last at 5.55 am.
The relatives alleged that if the ambulance had arrived on time, Shivarudrappa could have been saved. However, Kollegal Police have registered a case and are investigating.
