Youth drowned in River Cauvery

Srirangapatna: A 26-year-old youth was drowned after slipping and falling into River Cauvery near Cauvery Bore Temple in the taluk. The deceased is Ramesh, son of Siddappa and a resident of T.S. Chatra village in Pandavapura taluk. Ramesh, who had come to the temple along with his family members, ventured into Cauvery River though he did not know swimming and got drowned, according to Police.

Arakere Police visited the spot. Fire and Emergency Services personnel, comprising Shrishaila, S. Ravi and Shivanand, led by Srirangapatna Fire Station Assistant Fire Officer T.H. Krishna, conducted a search operation for about one hour, managed to trace and fish out the body and shifted the body to a hospital for post-mortem. 

A case has been registered at Arakere Police Station.
