Kushalnagar: A 21-year-old youth, who had gone for a swim in Cauvery River, was drowned after getting caught in the fishing net at Balugodu Rasalpura near Guddehosur yesterday.

The deceased youth has been identified as Pradeep, son of Suresh of 7th Hosakote, Tondur village. Pradeep, along with his friends, went to Cauvery River at Balugodu Rasalpura for a swim. The River divides the borders of Guddehosur and Periyapatna.Pradeep, who dived into the River, was swimming towards Bylkoppa banks when got caught in the fishing nets and drowned.

Fire and Emergency Services personnel from Kushalnagar were summoned to the spot, who fished out the body of Pradeep from the River. Kushalnagar Rural Police, who inspected the spot, have registered a case.
