Mysore/Mysuru: A 21-year-old youth, said to be mentally depressed, committed suicide by hanging self to a tree at a park in BEML Layout in city yesterday.

The deceased has been identified as Vrushabendra, son of Chamaraj, a resident of Marballi village in the taluk.

It is said that Vrushabendra was getting possessed by evil spirits since a few years and despite performing pujas at several religious places nothing had changed leading to the youth getting depressed and taking the  extreme step.

Kuvempunagar Police, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar, shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary besides registering a case.
