Mysore/Mysuru: A youth, who had befriended a girl on Facebook has allegedly lifted her scooter.
The girl who lost her scooter is 21-year-old Sowmya (name changed), a B.Com graduate and a resident of North-East of N.R. Mohalla.
On Dec. 19, Sowmya received a friend request on her Facebook from one Rohit Caesar and she accepted the request. Rohit then called her through Facebook Messenger and took her mobile phone number.
The next day, he called her and told her that he had hurt his leg and asked her to send him money. He also told her to invest money in some company for which she would get good profit. But Sowmya rejected it.
On Dec. 28, Rohit called Sowmya and summoned her to Akashavani Circle where he talked with her for some time and sent her. Again on Dec. 30 afternoon, Rohit, who summoned her to the Social Welfare Department Office at Paduvarahalli, told her that he had given his bike for service and asked her to drop him near Manipal Hospital junction.
Rohit who himself rode Sowmya’s Suzuki Access scooter (KA-55-Y-9473), came near Manipal Hospital junction and stopped the scooter. But when Sowmya got down, Rohit sped away with the scooter.
