Kushalanagar: An incident of a youth marrying a widow after falling in love and later abandoning her, has been reported from Kudlur village near here.

While the youth has been identified as Rajesh alias Guru of Kudlur village, the woman has been identified as 24-year-old Yamuna, also of the same village.

The incident: Yamuna, who had lost her husband, was living along with her two children in her mother’s place.

It is learnt that Yamuna was introduced to Rajesh by her friend and the two fell in love and Rajesh married Yamuna at a temple in Holenarsipur and stayed at Yamuna’s friend’s house for a few days and later left for his house saying that he would convince his parents and then take Yamuna along with him.

As Rajesh failed to turn up, Yamuna, along with her mother went to Rajesh’s house where Rajesh denied marrying Yamuna and allegedly assaulted Yamuna and her mother, according to the complaint lodged by Yamuna at Kushalanagar Rural Police Station.

Kushalanagar Rural Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
