College troupes perform folk dance, western dance; Upcoming actors Raana and Priyanka Achar of Elumale Kannada film fame star attractions
Mysore/Mysuru: The second day of Dasara Yuva Sambhrama yesterday, entertained the audience with a mix of art forms, from desi to western, presented by various college troupes at Open Air Theatre, Manasagangothri in city.
The star attractions were-upcoming actors Raana and Priyanka Achar of Elumale Kannada film fame and Trivikram of Bigg Boss Kannada Reality Show fame.
Mysuru-Kodagu MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, who was among the chief guests described Yuva Sambhrama as an event that is being practiced as a tradition. The young denizens have gathered here enthusiastically to showcase their skills on this platform. Let Goddess Chamundeshwari bless them, said Wadiyar.
The folk art of old Mysuru region, western dance, tribute to Dasara elephant Arjuna and foot tapping dance of young men and women and many more, were suffice to make the gathering go gaga to the hilt.
The environs resonated with the message of environmental conservation by the students of Jnanasarovara First Grade College, Channapatna with their dance performance, followed by a message on the significance of eye donation, by the specially-abled students of Government ITI College, Vishweshwara Nagar and another on Vijayanagar Empire by the students of Cauvery Excellence PU College.
While the students of Government First Grade College, Kuvempunagar introduced classical art forms to the gathering, Dashavatharam, a dance ballet by the students of Mangaluru Institute of Management, Bengaluru, captured the rapt attention of the gathering.
Sarvarigu Samabalu Sarvarigu Samapalu the message embodying spirit of Constitution of India authored by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, was presented by students of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Post Matric Hostel, V.V. Mohalla.
Actor Puneeth Rajkumar, who was popular as Appu among his fans, came alive in the form of a dance by the students of Morarji Desai PU Science Residential College, Varakodu, which struck a chord with the audience, who reciprocated by hailing Appu… Appu…
Elu Male Myaleri Kunta Namma Madeva… the chartbuster song from Shivarajkumar’s runaway hit film ‘Jogi’, reverberated with the audience, especially girls dancing merrily.
