The annual Sports Meet (2017-18) of St. Philomina’s College was held at the College Sports Grounds in city recently. At the beginning of the event, students displayed a splendid march-past.
Chief guest Prof. M. Raphael, former Controller of Examinations and former HoD of Sociology of St. Philomina’s College, received the guard of honour from the students.
Various sports events were organised and the students participated with total energy and enthusiasm. The prize for the best march-past was won by the I year II semester students of BCA and the second and third place went to the I year II semester B.Sc section ‘B’ students and III year VI semester B.Com students respectively.
Felicitation to PE Director C. Christopher by Rev. Fr. Bernard Prakash Barnis, Rector-Manager of the Institution and Dr. Ruth Shantha Kumari, Principal.
The PE Director of the College C. Christopher conducted the events along with PE Directors of neighbouring Colleges and with the help of staff members.
Christopher was felicitated during the last event of the Meet to recognise his services to sports in the last three decades to the institution and also on the occasion of his attaining superannuation.
Principal Dr. Ruth Shantha Kumari proposed a vote of thanks.
Prof. M. Nagesh, Asst. Professor, PG Dept. of Social Work (MSW) and Prof. Priya Prasad, Asst. Professor, UG Dept. of Journalism, compered the event.
