Belagavi: After a long delay, the State Cabinet which met here recently, has finally decided to complete the process of holding ZP (Zilla Panchayat) and TP (Taluk Panchayat) polls by April 2026.

The tenure of almost all ZPs and TPs in the State had ended in April 2021 and fresh elections were pending since then. But now, the Government has decided to conduct the polls, for which all preparations will be done by April 2026. The cabinet also decided to co-operate with the Election Commission for the conduct of polls.
