10% reservation for differently abled

The Government has introduced a total of 10 percent reservation for physically challenged children with over 25 percent disability, children of HIV infected parents, children of single parent and orphaned children, in admission to 6th standard at 807 out of the 826 Morarji Desai, Kittur Rani Channamma, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Atal Behari Vajpayee, Indira Gandhi and Ekalavya Model Residential Schools across the State run by  Karnataka Residential Educational Institutions Society (KREIS). The physically challenged students and other eligible categories can avail this opportunity for admission to 6th standard in KREIS residential schools, according to a press release issued by the Office of the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities.
