December 31, 2020

Mysore/Mysuru: No matter whether party buffs have made up their mind to welcome New Year with a big bang but GVK EMRI-Arogya Kavacha ‘108’ Ambulance service is fully prepared to deal with any emergency cases on Dec.31 night.

Did you know around 30 to 35 percent of road accidents occur during New Year-Eve celebrations than normal days? This is the survey conducted by the Ambulance Service Provider.

T.H. Narayana, Programme Manager, GVK EMRI 108 Ambulances, has said that it was strengthening its fleet across Karnataka to minimise the loss of lives in road accidents during New Year celebrations.

The ‘108’ Ambulance is closely coordinating with Police Department. It will liaise directly with a senior officer in Police Control Room, Mysuru, to reach the accident spots at the earliest.

The mobile phone networks are likely to be congested between 11.45 pm and 12.30 am on New Year’s Day. Ambulances would be deployed near Police Stations, Government Hospitals, Fire Stations etc., to get information on accidents through Police wireless network.

Now, all scheduled service and maintenance works for ambulances has been completed. Extra ambulances will be deployed in areas where higher emergencies are expected. All weekly-off and  leaves of the call centre and Ambulance staff have been cancelled to have adequate availability of manpower.

In Mysuru district, 32 Ambulances and 1 Bike Ambulance has been deployed while in Mandya district – 21 ambulances and in Chamarajanagar district – 13 ambulances along with adequate manpower to handle any emergency cases are  in place.
