1,270 additional vials of Amphotericin-B allocated to Karnataka

Bengaluru: Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers D.V. Sadananda Gowda on Saturday said that ensuring adequate allocations to Karnataka in view of rising cases of Mucormycosis, a total of 1,270 additional vials of Amphotericin-B have been allocated to the State.

In a series of tweets, he said that it is in addition to 1,660 vials allocated in 2 weeks. This will help to cure Black Fungus patients. With cases of Mucormycosis or Black Fungus increasing, the Government has allocated 23,680 additional vials of Amphotericin-B to various States and Union Territories (UTs), he said.

The allocation has been made based on the total number of patients which is around 8,848 across the country, he noted.

“After a detailed review of rising no. of cases of #Mucormycosis in various states, a total of 23,680 additional vials of #Amphotericin- B have been allocated to all States/UTs today,” Gowda tweeted.
