12th National Women’s Science Congress to conclude tomorrow

Mysuru:  A three-day 12th National Women’s Science Congress organised by Matru Vedike (Women Scientists Forum) and Swadeshi Vijnana Andolana, Karnataka, in association with Mahajana First Grade College began yesterday morning at Mahajana PG Centre on KRS Road here.

About 200 women Scientists and Researchers are participating in the event featuring lectures and discussions on various scientific and general topics.

Inaugurating the programme,  Scientist Dr. Indira Narayan Swamy opined that a student should basically have an aptitude to learn with a positive attitude. 

She asserted that there is no alternative to hard work to succeed in career. She suggested career-oriented women to update with recent developments in the relevant field failing which the person could be sidelined. She contended that everyone would be a genius in some aspect which should be properly channelised.

Marie Curie Mahila Vijnana Puraskara was conferred on Muthayya Vanitha, Project Director,  Chandrayaan-2 of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

C.V. Raman Mahila Vijnana Puraskara was conferred on Dr. N. Kalaiselvi, Director, Central Electrochemical Research Institute, Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu.

Mahajana Education Society (MES) Hon. Secretary Dr. T. Vijayalakshmi Muralidhar presided. Matru Vedike Chairperson Dr. Y.S. Gayathri, MES Administrative Officer P. Sarojamma and others were present.
