1,473 persons undergo health check-up under ‘Arogya Mysuru’

Free spectacles, medicines distributed

Mysuru:  About 1,473 persons, residing in MCC Ward Nos. 49, 50 and 51 coming under K.R. Constituency, underwent free health check up under ‘Arogya Mysuru’ scheme, organised by MLA S.A. Ramdas at Nataraja Educational Institution premises here yesterday.

The health check up was conducted by specialist doctors of various departments from 20 hospitals. Medical students, staff, volunteers from over 20 organisations and 30 NSS volunteers from Maharani’s College rendered their services at the health check up camp.

320 persons with heart related diseases, 67 with skin, 458 with diabetes, 78 with ENT problems, 38 with various surgical issues, 136 with orthopaedic problems and 54 with cancer related problems underwent check ups. Also, 259 patients were given general medicines, 165 underwent ECG test, 108 underwent blood tests, 38 underwent neurological check up, 294 dental check up, 40 gynaecology check up, 81 children, 31 tuberculosis patients, 89 patients underwent Ayurveda health check up and 286 persons underwent eye screening.

70 persons were given free spectacles and all those who underwent check up were distributed free medicines.

Shankar Cancer Hospital and Research Centre at Basavanagudi in Bengaluru  had sent a laboratory bus where cancer related patients underwent check up. Annapoorna Eye Hospital, Mysuru, provided spectacles.

Dr. Karthik Pandit, Dr. Geetha and Dr. Jayadev, who have rendered yeomen service in the medical field were felicitated on the occasion. Opposition leader in the MCC B.V. Manjunath, Corporator Sowmya Umesh, Dr. Lakshminarayana Shenoy, various Corporators of K.R. Constituency and others were present.
