15-day ‘Nandini Sihi Utsava’ begins

Mysuru:  The 15-day ‘Nandini Sweet Festival’ (Nandini Sihi Utsava) organised by MyMUL (Mysore District Co-operative Milk Producers Societies Union Ltd.) to create awareness among the public on the whole rage of ‘Nandini’ products, began in city this morning.

MyMUL President K.G. Mahesh inaugurated the fest at the Nandini Milk Parlour on Bannur Road in Siddarthanagar.

Speaking on the occasion, Mahesh said that the main objective of the fest was to enlighten the public on the whole range of Nandini sweets and other products.

Maintaining that Nandini Sweets are made out of pure ghee, khova and other items, he said that the fest aims at offering mouth watering sweets to a large section of people and thus  create a feeling among the public that ‘Nandini’ brand is their own, good in taste and better for health. MyMUL Managing Director Shivegowda said that there were 136 authorised Nandini outlets in city and the public can buy Nandini brand sweets at 10 per cent discount on MRP rate until July 20 at these outlets which will be open from 6 am to 9 pm. However, the parlour on Bannur Road will be open round-the-clock, he added.

MYMUL (Marketing) Dr. A.B. Lokesh, Director A.T. Somashekhar and others were present.

Nandini agents protest

Even as the sweet fest began today, some Nandini milk agents, who had lifted stocks yesterday and earlier, entered into an argument with MyMUL officials, saying that they cannot offer 10 per cent discount as long as the Nandini products which they had purchased at regular rates, was sold.

Expressing concern that they would have to suffer losses if they offered discount straight-away, they urged the officials to address this issue, following which the officials agreed to address their concerns, it is learnt.
