19 AIADMK MLAs take shelter at Puducherry Windflower Resort

August 23, 2017

Puducherry: The 19 AIADMK MLAs, belonging to TVV Dinakaran’s faction, who withdrew support to E. Palanswami-led Tamil Nadu Government, have now been lodged at The Windflower Resorts and Spa in Puducherry. As news about the MLAs staying in the resorts spread, the supports of ruling AIADMK arrived at the resort’s gate and demanded the MLAs to come out their rooms. However, the Police personnel deployed at the spot prevented the protestors from entering the resort.

The MLAs submitted individual letters to TN Governor C. Vidyasagar Rao yesterday demanding for the removal of CM Palaniswami stating that  they had lost confidence. The MLAs called the merger of two AIADMK factions as illegal and also opposed the proposed decision to expel jailed V.K. Sasikala as party chief.
