23 girls receive Linga Deeksha Samskara

Mysuru: Marking Akkamahadevi Jayanti, Nataraja Prathishtana had organised a function at Nataraja Kalyana Mantapa in Agrahara here on Tuesday where 23 Lingayat girls on their own will received ‘Linga Deeksha Samskara’ in the presence of Sri Chidananda Swamiji.

Sri Gurushanta Swamiji, Sri Renukashivacharya Swamiji, Sri Mahadeva Swamiji, Sri Chidguna Swamiji, Sri Gurupada Swamiji and Sri Madiwala Swamiji graced the occasion.

Inaugurating the evening programme, ‘Kadali’ award winner M.N. Sumana opined that Akkamahadevi Jayanti would be meaningful only if cases of harassment on women drastically comes down. Retired Professor H.M. Vasanthamma presided. Assistant Professor of Mahajana First Grade College Dr. Vinodamma spoke on freedom for women and Akkamahadevi.
