Mysore/Mysuru: The three-day 25th annual convention of Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI), Mysuru, (APTICON-2022) hosted by JSS College of Pharmacy, was inaugurated at Sri Rajendra auditorium in JSS Medical College campus here on Friday.
Sudarshan Jain, Secretary General, Indian Pharmaceutical Alliance (IPA) inaugurated the convention and gave away awards to Pharmacy teachers.
Speaking on the occasion, Jain said that the convention has the theme ‘Empowering Academia for Advancing Pharmacy Education.’ Pointing out that conventions like this will motivate and help Pharmacy teachers and students to update their knowledge and skills with the current trends, he said this will also help to percolate knowledge from Pharma Industry to students, research scholars and teachers.
Dr. Milind Janrao Umekar, President, APTI (Central), India, in his Presidential address, noted that the Healthcare profession comprising the Industrial and Practice sectors is undergoing a rapid change. In recent years, the Indian Pharma Industry has registered Spectacular progress. The ever expanding practice sectors need clinically and technologically trained Pharmacy professionals who can face global challenges and compete with Multinational Companies (MNCs), he added.
Earlier, JSS College of Pharmacy Principal Dr. T.M. Pramod Kumar who delivered the welcome address, hoped that the convention will bring the Industry-Institution interaction to a new level leading to joint scientific study ventures, recruitments, joint R&D projects and other benefits to Industry personnel and academic institutions.
JSS Mahavidyapeetha Executive Secretary Dr. C.G. Betsurmath, Secretary S.P. Manjunath, JSS AHER Vice-Chancellor Dr. Surinder Singh, Pro-Chancellor Dr. B. Suresh, Pharmacy Council of India President Dr. Montu Patel, APTICON-2022 Organising Secretary Dr. V. Balamuralidhara, APTI (Central), India Secretary Dr. Raman Dang and others were present.
About two thousand Pharmacy professionals, students, Industrialists and others took part in this three-day event.
