3 chain-snatchers arrested

Merchant buying the stolen jewels also arrested

Mysuru:  Mysuru Rural Police have arrested three persons who had allegedly snatched gold chains in various districts and also the merchant who was buying the stolen jewels.

The Police have seized two bikes used for the crime and recovered gold jewels worth about Rs. 15 lakh from them.

The accused have been identified as Ayub, Jawar of Udayagiri and Deviram of Byatarayanapura in Bengaluru. Another accused Saddam is said to be absconding. Mohammed Hafeez of Meena Bazaar, who was buying the stolen jewels has also been arrested.

The arrest has unearthed eight cases in Mysuru district, four in Mandya, two in Hassan and one in Mysuru city.

All the accused have been remanded to judicial custody.
