38th Masters Athletic Championship 2017: Rich haul by Mysuru District Master Athletes

The Mysuru District Masters Athletes, who took part in the 38th Masters Athletic Championship-2017 held at Hoskote in Bengaluru from Dec.23 to 24, returned with a rich haul of medals by winning 23 golds, 21 silver and 20 bronze medals. In the men’s section, C.B. Cheluve Gowda won three gold medals in the 70 plus category, while C. Raghavendra (80 plus men won one gold) B.K. Somashekar (45 plus, won 1 gold and 2 silver medals).

Bhagawan, N. Manju, S. Manjunath, A.A. Beemaiah, M. Hariesh, M. Yogendra, B. Basavaraj, C.R. Ananda, S. Mahadevu, M.P. Chandrashekar and K.T. Balarame Gowda won a gold medal each. Mahadevaiah and H.R. Ramaswamy won a silver medal each.

All the winners have earned selection to represent Karnataka State in the 39th All India Masters Athletics Championship to be held in Bengaluru from Feb.21 to 25, 2018.
