39th edition of Vasundharotsava-2023 at Nadabrahma Sabha from Nov. 4 to 11

The 39th edition of Vasundharotsava-2023, an Indian Classical Dance and Musical Extravaganza, has been organised by Vasundhara Performing Arts Centre (VPAC), a Cultural Wing of  VPAC&C Trust, Mysuru,  at Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha on JLB Road in city from Nov. 4 to 11 between 6 pm and 9 pm.

Kamakshi Devi of erstwhile Mysore royal family will inaugurate the event at 6 pm on Nov. 4. Poorna Devi Kempraj Urs (USA) and former MLA Vasu will be the chief guests. Rtn. PHF M.K. Sridhar will be the guest of honour. Kaynes Technology Director and VPAC & C Trust Chairperson Savitha Ramesh will preside.

On the day of inauguration, Dr. Vasundhara Doraswamy will present her latest rare choreography in Vasundhara Bani ‘Pavana Ganga.’ The scripts and lyrics are by veteran scholar Vidu. Jyothi Shankar.

During this year, highly talented nationally and internationally acclaimed artistes are going to showcase their chosen art. The schedule is as follows:

Nov. 5 — 6.15 pm to 7.15 pm: Bharatanatyam by Vid. Sandesh Bhargav (Mysuru); 7.30 pm to 8.30 pm: Bharatanatyam by Dr. Samyukta K. Urs (USA). Felicitation to Kamakshi Devi and Srikrishna Gana Sabha President B.S. Sridhar Raje Urs (Mysuru).

Nov. 6 — 6.15 pm to 7.15 pm: Bharatanatyam by Vidu. Anjana Ramesh Sarma (Bengaluru); 7.30 pm to 8.30 pm: Kathak by Vidu. Mukta Joshi (Mumbai). Felicitation to Vidu. Vani Ramesh (USA).

Nov. 7 — 6.15 pm to 7.15 pm: Bharatanatyam by Meghana Bojala and Preethi Ramamurthy, disciples of Vidu. Vani Krishna Murthy (USA); 7.30 pm to 8.30 pm: Bharatanatyam by Vidu. Sandhya Udupa (Bengaluru). Felicitation to Poorna Devi K. Urs (USA).

Nov. 8 — 6.15 pm to 7.15 pm: Mohiniyattam by Vidu. Sujatha Nair (Mumbai); 7.30 pm to 8.30 pm: Bharatanatyam by Vidu. Soundarya Srivatsa (Bengaluru). Felicitation to Noopura Trust Director Prof. K. Ramamurthy Rao (Mysuru).

Nov. 9 — 6.15 pm to 7.15 pm: Odissi by Vidu. Anushree Padmanabha (Mysuru); 7.30 pm to 8.30 pm: Bharatanatyam by Vid. Atanu Das (Kolkata). Felicitation to Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha Secretary KSN Prasad.

Nov. 10 — 6.15 pm to 9 pm: Karnatak Classical Music by Trichur Brothers — Vid. Krishna Mohan and Vid. Ramkumar Mohan — (Chennai). Felicitation to SPVGMC Trust Secretary C.R. Himamshu.

Nov. 11 — 6.15 pm and 8.30 pm: The Chiguru Sanje, a rare show of Bharatanatayam by tiny-tots will be showcased by the disciples of Vidu. Seema Jawahar of Smrithi Nandan Performing Arts Centre, Bengaluru, Dr. Vasundhara Doraswamy of VPAC, Mysuru and Premita Govind of Kalandika Academy of Dance, Mysuru. Felicitation to Muktaka Academy Founder Prof. S. Ramaprasad.
