3D mapping projection at Mysore Palace

Mysuru: Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep has written a letter to the Tourism Department Secretary drawing his attention to introduce a permanent 3-D Mapping projection at the world famous Mysore Palace.

Buoyed with the success of the 3D mapping projection on the 133-year-old Town Hall since the last two years during Dasara, he has said that the same technology if used to project the 600-year history of the Wadiyars will draw more crowds.

As it is, the Palace is drawing more than 35 lakh visitors every year. A Sound and Light programme is already arranged at the Palace on weekdays. For various reasons, it has not drawn the expected response  from the people.

Hence, 3-D mapping is suitable to project the rich history of the city’s art, culture and tradition that will come alive on the magnificent Palace building, which will invariably attract more people like it does for the Town Hall during Dasara, the DC has stated in his letter to the Mysore Palace Board and the  Tourism Department.
