.P. Nayana, a final year student of the Department of E&C, JSS Polytechnic for Women, Manasagangothri, has secured first prize in the shot-put at the 42nd Inter-Polytechnic Sports Meet held at L.V. Government Polytechnic, Hassan, recently.

She has broken the forty-year-old record with a throw of 9.5 meters and has remained at the top spot in the last three  consecutive events.

She has also won the Rolling Shield with this win.
