4,726 women benefited from CM’s Mathrushree Scheme

Mysuru: As many as 4,726 women were benefited from CM’s Mathrushree Scheme and 22,726 from Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, the maternity benefits provided by the State and Central Governments respectively for pregnant and lactating mothers in the district so far.

Both the Governments have been implementing this scheme through Department of Women and Child Development (DWCD) effectively in the district.        

Speaking to Star of Mysore, Deputy Director of DWCD K. Padma said that the registration for CM’s Mathrushree Scheme and Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana will be done in all Anganwadi Kendras, at all Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and Taluk Hospitals on every Thursday and District Hospital on all working days besides at the Taluk Office of Child Development Programme Officer.

Under the CM Mathrushree Scheme, pregnant women (seven months pregnant), who are BPL (below poverty line) card holders, will be given Rs.6,000.

The amount will be credited directly to their bank account which is linked to their Aadhaar card. This facility can be availed for two deliveries.

The Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana is for both APL (Above Poverty Line) and BPL card-holding pregnant women and mothers under post-natal care, Rs.5,000 will be credited directly to the bank account linked to Aadhaar card, in three instalments to the beneficiaries.

Pregnant and lactating mothers must bring the required documents for registration such as Aadhaar copy of beneficiary and husband, Mother and Childcare Card, Bank account details of beneficiary, copy of BPL/APL card and details of Primary Health Centres.

Beneficiaries are requested to contact their Anganwadi workers and Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) for details.
